Silicones is the collective name given to large range of synthetic polymers created in the early 1940’s and extensively developed since, based on organic extensions to the silicon metal atom, generating many, many products to cope with higher service temperatures and more extreme weathering than previously possible.

In 1951 Field Performance, through its brand TRANZ, commenced making silicone derivatives to enable practical applications of these ‘silicones’ for Industry, Defence, Electrical Generation and Distribution, Potable Water Handling, Most Trades, and Households.

The TRANZ Range of Di Methyl (DiMe) and Methyl/Phenyl (MePh) PolySiloxanes covers:

Oils
Clear, odourless, viscosities 2 Centistokes (Cstks) up to 200,000 Csts.

Oil Solutions
A range of viscosities in hydrocarbon and non-flammable solvents.

Oil Emulsions
35%, 50% and 60% Solids in Anionic and Non-ionic formats from base fluids of Low, Med. High Molecular Weights, to Industrial, Food Grade and Pharmaceutical Standards.

Greases
From base fluids Low, Medium and High Molecular Weights to Industrial, Food Grade and Pharmaceutical Standards at a wide range of consistances, NLGI 00 to NLGI 4

Grease Solutions
In Hydrocarbon and Non-flammable solvents

Grease Emulsions
Low, Medium and thick consistancies emulsified to Industrial, Food and Pharmaceutical Standards

General areas of use:
Silicone oil is employed across various industrial sectors owing to its high hydrophobicity, temperature stability, excellent water and temperature resistance.
Lubricate and protect plastics, inhibit the formation of rust and reduce friction.Used a sealant and as a lubricant, in the Food Packaging, Bottling, plumbing Industries, and in Transformers.
Use with Scuba Gear, Gaskets, Seals, O-Rings, Water Filter Housing Threads, and contact with Latex, Rubber Seals and Ebonite (hard rubber), Pistons, Feeds, Barrels, locks and hinges. Use silicone to lubricate metal, wood, rubber and plastics.
If lubricating a porous surface such as wood, please be aware that staining may occur.
Note:

Do not use Silicone lubricants with silicone rubber as it may cause the rubber to break down

Check your surfaces before application.
