About our Company

TRANZ Lubricants, is a division of Field Performance, a multi-disciplinary company, evolved through more than fifty years of establishing, refining and servicing challenging technical processes for some of the most demanding applications known to materials science. For more than four decades we have worked in Applied and Forensic Tribophysics, initially performing research and development only for our own internal needs, but later greatly expanding to include the widest industrial arena. For many years we have had the reputation of a quiet and successful achiever, supplying Manufacturers in most industries, the Trade and World renown distributors, with World Class products and technical solutions.

Leaders in their industry, the Field Group pioneered:-


1951 Australian manufacture of high performance and specialty lubricants for metals on rubbers and plastics.

1960 Design then manufacture of the assembly and Lifetime service lubricant for Australian automotive brake booster units.

1964 Development then Worldwide use of the World's first ‘Liveline’ non-flammable spray for prevention of pollution flash-over on High Tension power line insulators.

1965 Australia's first synthesis of "Silicones", including manufacture of mono, di & tri methyl, phenyl & methyl/phenyl silanediols.

1967 Design & manufacture of one of the world's first automotive disc brake caliper suspension compound, for the first United States disc braked vehicle - the Chevrolet Corvette.

1968 The establishment of Australia’s first Rare Earth Metals production after purchase of the Uranium Treatment Plant, Port Pirie, South Australia.

1972 The creation of and manufacture of Internationally Registered range of 86 presentations of Diagnostic Media for human G.I. tract , inc. U.S. FDA Registration with 4 manufacturing plants - Sydney, Australia; Cambridge, UK; Duisburg, Germany & St. Louis MO, USA.

1975 Australia's first manufacture of "Fire Safe" brand, Fire Resistant lubricating greases.

1983 The technology then complete construction of production and packaging plant for making Pureau Brand, the then world’s purest, bottled drinking waters.

1990 Program initiated & successfully completed to make Lifetime service (7 Years) lubricant for air-cylinder seals of Aluminium Smelting potline crust-breakers operating at up to 235 Cent.

Today TRANZ Lubricants is a significant independent Australian manufacturer and consultant in Forensic Tribophysics and High Performance & Extreme Performance Lubricants and Functional Compounds for:-

  • NATO, JSD, DEF STAN, MIL and SAE-AMS lubricants Specification Materials for Weaponry & Weapons Systems, Guided Ordnance, Munitions, Armoured Vehicles, Fixed & Rotating Wing, Civil & Military Aircraft, Merchant & Naval Ships and Submarines, from the armed forces of NATO, its Allies, The Australian Defence Forces and The New Zealand Defence Forces, and Defence industry contractors.
